Barack Obama’s Makeup Artist Uses Wrinkle System Dark Circle Serum

Danica Jardien is onto something.  The Denver-based Makeup Artist has a client list that is essentially the top tier of the "Who’s Who" in the USA.  Her elite clientele choose to work with her because of her ability to create "flawless distinguished looks through a finely tuned arts perspective."  With a client list starting with President Barack Obama, she certainly has a knack for helping people look their best.

Danica received professional training while studying with innovative beauty companies such as Lancome, MAC, and Chanel.  Her artistic approach and attention to detail have also helped her work with the likes of Tyra Banks, Tatyana Ali, and Carmelo Anthony.

Many fans of Danica Jardien follow her for advice.  Her busy schedule and mobile approach to servicing clients doesn’t stop her from constantly being a respected voice in the fashion and beauty industry.  Danica is so in touch with her fans that she is constantly providing beauty tips and showing people ways to use different products.

On a recent update to her busy YouTube channel, Danica addressed a common topic we discuss on EyeCream.com – Dark Under Eye Circles and Fine Lines.  In the almost 6 minute video, Danica shows people how to cover dark under eye circles.

After talking about how she first applies a concealer to her eye area, she talks about how she has been using various under eye serums "without much of a difference, except for the Wrinkle System Dark Under Eye Serum," which she’s been using about 3 and a half weeks.  You can see the whole video below.

As many of our EyeCream.com readers point out, dark circles under the eyes continue to be a common problem among people.  While there are many products out there that make claims to get rid of dark circles, few are clinically tested, such as the product made by Wrinkle System.  The impressive clinical tests released by Wrinkle System resulted in a 35% reduction of dark circles on average.  The extensive laboratory testing also showed a massive 31% reduction in eye puffiness as well as a 42% improvement to skin smoothness.  Bottom line, the Dark Circle Serum works.

Anti Wrinkle Eye Creams

Eye Creams serve many purposes and as we have reported in the past, they come in many shapes, forms, and ingredient mixes.  For the most part, people use eye creams for the following reasons:

  • Reduce puffiness around the eyes
  • Reduce dark circles under the eyes
  • Enhance collagen production and tighten sagging skin
  • Moisturize, plump, and smooth the skin around the eyes
  • Reduce the appearance of eye wrinkles

If you noticed, the last entry is in red letters.  This is because there is a common misconception among eye cream consumers that ALL eye creams will get rid of eye wrinkles.  This is simply not true.  Many eye creams are great at treating several symptoms of aging, but most eye creams will not reduce the appearance of eye wrinkles.  You have to be very careful when you buy eye creams, and you must understand the claims made and gauge your results accordingly.

For example, a company that introduced a clinically-tested Dark Circle Eye Serum recently came on board our website as an advertiser.  Made by Wrinkle System, the Dark Circle Eye Serum uses ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and seaweed extract in order to treat dark circles.  While this is a clinically tested formula that will reduce dark circles by an astounding 35%, the company does not make any claim or reference to eye wrinkles.  That is important to know, because some consumers will assume that an eye serum of such high caliber will reduce eye wrinkles, and in the case of this example, it’s simply not what the product was formulated to do.

If you are looking for an eye cream that will effectively treat eye wrinkles, or crows feet as they are often called, you must look for an eye cream that contains Argireline.  (Acetyl hexapeptide-3 is the INCI name for this ingredient.)  Argireline is an anti aging breakthrough that has been called a great needle free alternative to Botox.  While it’s silly to compare eye creams to Botox, they do attempt to reduce eye wrinkles, so that is why some in the skin care industry make that reference.

Another EyeCream.com advertiser, EliteSkin, has a top selling eye serum called Elite Serum, which contains a high concentration of Argireline.  If you are looking to treat eye wrinkles, we suggest you give them a shot.  Eye cream reviews have been solid for Elite Serum, and we fully support our advertisers.

Of course, there are many other ways to treat eye wrinkles.  Anti wrinkle creams are normally used around expression lines such as the forehead and on frown lines, but they can be effective in treating eye wrinkles.  Before buying any product for your eye wrinkles, be sure to read plenty of consumer reviews.

Best Eye Cream 2010?

Every year in the skin care industry, new breakthroughs and developments lead to advanced formulas making their ways through the hands of men and women across the globe with one goal – to have younger looking skin.  Each year, promises are made by large eye cream makers in the same capacity.  You will certainly hear words such as "remove dark circles," "reduce puffiness," and of course, "look younger."  The eye cream industry is over a billion dollar industry on it’s own, and each year companies spend gobs of money on trying to manufacture the best eye cream.

Who will emerge as the best eye cream of 2010 is anyone’s guess.

Last year, we saw some impressive strides by many companies as they put in their bid to make the best eye cream of 2009.  Our eye cream research staff was quite impressed with the addition of antioxidant rich nutrients such as resveratrol in the formula of the much-discussed Elite Serum.  We were also quite impressed with the efficacy and packaging, let alone the IDEA of the La Prairie Eye Lifting cream containing caviar.  That was certainly a big breakthrough that impressed many.  If you take a stroll through your local department store and head into the anti aging skin care section, take a look at the La Prairie products, the packaging is second to none. We hope to be carrying La Prairie right here in our eye cream store, which is slated to launch this Spring.  For now, it’s in beta mode so please bear with us as we line up more eye cream products to carry once we fully launch.

2009 showed a lot of improvement in eye creams.  As consumers continue to regain their buying power that was lost during a downturn in the global economy, one thing is for certain – makers of anti aging eye creams will continue to improve their formulas in the hopes of making the best eye cream of 2010.

Once again, happy new year from the staff of EyeCream.com

Retail Eye Creams – Worth it?

This past weekend, one of our staff writers was doing some Holiday Shopping in a major mall.  Never losing focus on eye cream research, he took a long, hard look at various skin care products in the beauty section.  While malls and department stores thrive on skin care and beauty product sales, it raised us to pose a question – are you better off buying skin creams online?

Today we’ll look at eye creams, in particular, and compare the pro’s and con’s of buying at the mall versus buying online.

Buying Retail – The Advantages

  • Retail malls normally provide an ample amount of samples
  • Knowledgeable sales staff can explain the benefits of eye creams in person
  • Professional displays and visuals provide in depth information
  • Many different brands are available at arms length
  • Products are paid for and obtained in the same moment

Buying Retail – The Disadvantages

  • Sales people are incentivized by commissions and bonuses
  • Retail products are subject to exquisite packaging demands in order to compete – which is passed on to the consumer
  • Retail contracts prohibit certain brands from circulation, shelf space
  • Purchases can be subject to State sales tax
  • Sales force can be pushy, invasive, and annoying

Buying Online – The Advantages

  • No pushy sales force
  • Information is at your fingertips
  • Ingredient claims can be researched and backed up
  • When products are bought direct, customer service is superior and returns are handled directly by the manufacturer
  • Sales tax is only applicable if you buy from a company within your own State
  • Consumer reviews are widely available
  • Product packaging isn’t as expensive, meaning a superior product in less appealing packaging can be a great value in terms of therapeutic benefits on the skin

Buying Online – The Disadvantages

  • Companies aren’t always as reputable
  • Customer must wait for product to arrive
  • Some consumer reviews could mislead consumers
  • No face to face interaction or "testing of product

Those are the hard, cold facts, folks.  While you can see there are numerous pro’s and con’s of each way to buy eye creams, there are numerous items we’d like to weight in on.  Here is our analysis and additional information on the subject.

Retail or Mail Order?  Final analysis…..

While we love a trip to the mall to buy pretty much anything, there are many factors that shy us away from buying skin care products, such as eye creams, in retail outlets.  For starters, we don’t like the fact that sales staff is incentivized to sell certain brands at certain times of the year.  We’ve worked in enough retail outlets to know that there are always sales contests that reward sales staff for selling certain brands.  When a certain incentive is offered to someone in sales, it can often times sway the customer away from buying the best product for their skin’s needs in order for the sales person to make their sales goals or obtain a commission.

Sales tax, depending on what State you are located in, can play a big part of the final price.  Just think of annualizing all of your skin care purchases and multiple the number by the local sales tax percentage.  That’s pretty hefty.  We usually know which products we like, and at times, we will visit malls and find products of interest, only to take our search to the web to find them for sale for cheaper.  Often times, the web provides sources for discount codes, coupons, and free shipping offers. If you can navigate the web with ease, you will have no problem finding skin care products for sale at cheaper prices – without pushy sales people.

Let’s look at the packaging aspect of the eye cream business.  Sure, you can go to the mall and find the eye-appealing La Prairie Eye Lifting Cream – packaged to the nines, and arguably the best packaged skin care product in ages.  BUT, you will pay a premium for this packaging.  You have to ask yourself, is having a nice product on display in your bathroom worth a 100% mark-up at times? Or, would you rather have an eye cream that WORKS yield better skin, less dark circles, and less puffiness – without the fancy packaging?

The world wide web is full of useful information. If you can find this information, as well as sift through various eye cream reviews, there is no doubt that you can find the best eye cream at a much cheaper price point, without any greedy sales force trying to earn commissions and talk you into a product only to fatten their paycheck.

Keep those facts in mind as you shop for eye creams and other skin care products – happy surfing!

Two Minute Wrinkle Drill Review

As you all know, eye creams come in all shapes, sizes, and price points.  When you look around at all of the eye cream reviews we post each week, it’s hard to ignore the fact that most of the prices are well over $100 in most cases.  While it’s hard to put a price on our appearance without dark circles, puffiness, and eye wrinkles, it certainly is easier an easier pill to swallow when the products that help make us look younger are priced at an affordable level.  For this reason, we’ll take a look at a new product introduced by Wrinkle System, makers of a top anti wrinkle cream bearing the same name.

At $87, the Two Minute Wrinkle Drill is an every day anti aging skin care system that cleanses the face, treats deep wrinkles, and gets rid of dark circles.  The best part about this new anti aging system is that the entire routine can be done in just two minutes.

Here is a quick overview of the system, along with detailed instructions for each step:

Step One:  Wet the entire face with water.  Apply the Extreme Cleansing Gel to the palm of your hand.  Rub into the face gently.  Rinse with lukewarm water.

Step Two:  Apply the Wrinkle Reduction Cream to the entire face, focusing on areas where expression lines form.  The best areas to apply the Wrinkle Reduction Cream include the forehead, frown lines, and around the corners of the eyes.

Step Three:  Apply a small amount of the Dark Circle Serum to the palm of your hand.  Use the pointer finger of the opposite hand and gently massage into the under-eye area, around the orbital bone.

The best part about this particular anti aging system is that it includes a cleanser.  So many times, eye cream manufacturers create a system of products that work in synergy to reduce wrinkle depth and rejuvenate the skin around the eyes, but they forget the most important aspect – the skin must be cleansed prior to use in order to achieve maximum benefits.

Puffy Eyes – Why Does This Happen?

Puffy eyes affect people of all ages.  Starting in the early teens, puffy eyes can be a very noticeable trait that gives off an unhealthy look around the eyes.  Basically, the skin starts to swell due to different factors.  Today’s eye cream update will take a look at why this happens.

First, some general information about the skin around the eyes……

The skin around the eyes is extremely thin and is jam-packed with blood vessels, making it a very sensitive area.  This area of skin also ages quicker than skin on other areas of the body, which translates into a direct correlation on your personal appearance.  Having "puffy eyes" or "dark circles" (two common references to reasons why people buy eye creams) can give off the notion of one leading an unhealthy lifestyle or being prone to late nights, partying, or just not taking care of themselves.  That said, it’s important to treat these signs of aging at moments notice, in order to give off a more healthy presence and avoid making a bad first impression on others.

Even stars such as Eva Mendes get puffy eyes

You are not alone – Even Stars such as Eva Mendes suffer from puffy eyes!

So, what are the direct causes of puffy eyes?

There are several causes of puffy eyes, which we’ll list in no particular order…

  • Crying can cause puffy eyes, as the skin around and under the eyes swells and more blood travels through this area.
  • Stress is a MAJOR cause of puffy eyes.
  • Fluid retention.
  • Allergies (seasonal impact).
  • Hormonal changes.  This happens in both the teenage years and after about age 30 in both men and women.
  • Excessive alcohol intake

Finally, like in the case of dark under eye circles, lack of sleep is a major cause of puffy eyes.  By keeping a routine sleep schedule, and getting the proper amount of sleep each evening, you can prevent puffiness around the eyes.

Now that you know what causes puffy eyes, we’ll add some suggestions on how you can treat puffy eyes……

1.  The best way to treat puffy eyes is to use an eye cream on a daily basis.  Eye creams, especially those with Eyeliss, (among the best clinical performers for treating puffy eyes) are the best treatment to reduce the appearance of puffy eyes. If you use an eye cream on a daily basis (or an eye serum or eye gel, as they are often marketed), you are staying ahead of the game and ensuring your skin gets the necessary nutrients to stay in tip-top shape.

2.  Drink plenty of water.  Staying hydrated helps your body in many ways, but did you know it can be a great way to keep puffy eyes at bay?  Water not only keeps skin on the entire body healthy and glowing, but it also keeps the skin directly under the eyes looking full and plump.

3.  An eye care remedy you can use (that you will find in many spa treatments, such as facials) is to apply two cold cucumber slices on top of your eyes.

4.  Lastly, limit your sodium intake.  Sodium is shown to dehydrate your body, which of course leads to unhealthy skin.  Easy on the salt!
