We know that it is important to maintain the moisture levels through the skin around the eyes, as once the moisture within the skin becomes depleted, which occurs through the natural process of aging, fine lines, wrinkles and other ailments begin to occur – signs which show up throughout the outer layers of the skin and on the surface, but have merit through the deep inner layers of the skin.
The skin around the eyes is very delicate, thin and predisposed to becoming damaged from the lack of moisture in the skin. For this reason, it is important to ensure that the moisture levels within the skin to reduce the effects of aging on the surface of the skin, as well as through the inner layers of the cells.
How can you prevent the damage to the skin around the eyes that comes from dryness? First, one should ensure that there is an adequate level of protection that is available to the skin around the eye through the form of continuous moisture. The moisture can come from the inner layers of the skin as well as from the products that are able to introduce moisture in the skin.
Although the effects of dehydration can be seen throughout the outer layer of the skin, on the surface, the damage begins deep within the layers of the skin, with the reduction of collagen. Collagen is lost with age and can stop the skin from being provided with the moisture necessary to retain the youthful glow that is desired for the skin. Once the collagen levels become decreased throughout the layers of the skin, the lack of moisture causes dehydration through the multiple layers of the skin, before being seen through the outer layer, in the form of dry skin and this affect increases through the skin around the eyes.
The skin around the eyes is thinner, although having just as many layers, the damage that is completed to the inner layers of the skin around the eyes can be easier seen throughout the surface. A lack of moisture and dehydration through the skin around the eyes can often result in discoloration that we know of as dark circles that develop throughout the eye area and even the sagging that can occur through the upper lid of the eye. Ensuring that you use products to introduce moisture to the eye area that is reduced because of the environment can be an effective way to ensure that you are able to maintain the health of the skin throughout the entire eye area.
